BREAKING NEWS FROM THE IFL...

According to sources, league founder and CEO Chris Chudada has announced that he will be stepping aside from the league for personal reasons.  It is known that Mr. Chudada is keen on coaching and has been offered the chance to coach youth at the high school level.  Furthermore, he reportedly feels that he has shepherded the league to a place where it can survive without his involvement.  At this point, no official announcement has been made, but sources continue to report that Mr Chudada has decided to step away.

Rumored to be in the mix to step in and assist IFL Commissioner Pete Narrai and co-owner Jordan Kopac is former IFL President of Football Ops Dan Greene.  Greene is currently the coach of the West Bend Junkyard Dogs and heads up the IFL Hall-of-Fame Committee.

Check back for more details or corrections as they become available...

***UPDATE***

It has been confirmed that Mr Narrai and Mr Kopac will be running the league in the interim as more help is sought...

What to Watch July 10th
Saturday, 10 July 2010 00:00

Four of the six playoffs spots up north in the NEFL are CLINCHED.  Three spots in the IFL are clinched.  The Thunderhawks secured the #1 seed in the NPFL.  And the MSFL is getting underway.  With so much drama in the LBC (LeBron Camp), it's kinda hard trying to figure out what to see.

Wow.  That was bad.  But here is something good.  Here is...

WHAT TO WATCH!

Green Bay Gladiators (4-2) @ Upper Peninsula Arctic Blast (0-6), NEFL.
Yeah, this game means nothing for the Blast other than a chance to show some pride.  For a team that was once the cream of the crop in the Upper Midwest, this has been a long, ugly fall from grace.  Green Bay, on the other hand, has done well to be on the cusp of securing a winning record and a playoff clincher.  While they are, for all intents and purposes, already heading to the postseason, this will make it official.  It will also add more drama to next week's rematch with the Force, as a GB win could give them a #2 or #3 seed.

Saturday, 6PM, Norway High School, Norway, MI.

Racine Raiders (0-0) @ Roscoe Rush (0-0), MSFL
What a difference a year makes.  Barely a year ago Roscoe was challenging Madison for the NFC crown.  Of course, then came the Burlington Screw Job, when IFL Commissioner Pete Narrai and owner Chris Chudada decided to strip Roscoe of a last second win based on hearsay without having seen the videotape.  Roscoe bolted for the MSFL in a move they said was a long time overdue.  Meanwhile, the Raiders, who were once the class of the nation and enjoy a history that is unrivaled, left the confines of the deteriorating NAFL for the MSFL.  Immediately, both teams were among the favorites to contend for the MSFL Championship.  This will be the third time these two have faced off, the first in a league match-up.  The series is tied at 1-1.

Saturday, 7PM, Pecatonica High School, Pecatonica, IL

Muskego Hitmen (4-1) @ Wauwatosa Spartans (3-3), IFL
Muskego made waves two weeks ago with a huge victory over the undefeated Junkyard Dogs.  Wauwatosa also made news, but in the other way; a loss to the unestablished Shorewood Monarchs was the talking point of the bye week.  Now, 'Tosa returns home with a chance to make or break their season.  Muskego can be as dominant as they come when they play well, and their defense prides themselves on creating turnovers.  Wauwatosa QB Tony Henner has not seemed like the All-star QB of the past few years, and has thrown 4+ interceptions several times this season.  If the Spartans want to get the season back on track, they need a win, or else they run the risk of imploding.  Muskego can get a big boost heading into their showdown with archrival Madison next week.

Saturday, 7PM, Wisconsin Lutheran College, Milwaukee, WI

Other games of interest:

Milwaukee Venom (4-2) @ Burlington Blue Devils (5-1), IFL:  Burlington will look to continue their hot streak against one of the better defenses in the IFL.
Milwaukee Storm (0-6) @ Madison Mustangs (5-0), IFL:  Madison looks for #30 in a row.
Chippewa Valley Predators (6-0) @ Eau Claire Crush (2-4), NEFL:  CV looks for #18 in a row against cross-town rival Crush.

One Fan's Take

The following analysis comes from a fan who goes by the pseudonym Footballlover23.  We thought it was a great break down of the battle in Eau Claire and we wanted to share it with you.

It's finally here, the game the city of Eau Claire has talked about NEFL offseason moves begun back in December. I have attended every single match up and every home game for either team in the last 6 years so I think I should be able to give an honset un-bias opinion on this game.

Offensive Line
Crush have a new group of players running a system that gives the best ability to have success. Simple play calls and basic blocking schemes make this team a group that is coming together quickly. The Predators have a unit that was quite dominant last year. With the additions of Dustin Tervelt and Coty Weltzin at Left Guard and Center, this team seems to have moved it up a level from last year. Dominque Bacon may be the best lineman I have ever seen and he gives them an undoubtedly advantage over any team. Adavantage PREDATORS.
