BREAKING NEWS FROM THE IFL...

According to sources, league founder and CEO Chris Chudada has announced that he will be stepping aside from the league for personal reasons.  It is known that Mr. Chudada is keen on coaching and has been offered the chance to coach youth at the high school level.  Furthermore, he reportedly feels that he has shepherded the league to a place where it can survive without his involvement.  At this point, no official announcement has been made, but sources continue to report that Mr Chudada has decided to step away.

Rumored to be in the mix to step in and assist IFL Commissioner Pete Narrai and co-owner Jordan Kopac is former IFL President of Football Ops Dan Greene.  Greene is currently the coach of the West Bend Junkyard Dogs and heads up the IFL Hall-of-Fame Committee.

Check back for more details or corrections as they become available...

***UPDATE***

It has been confirmed that Mr Narrai and Mr Kopac will be running the league in the interim as more help is sought...

WSFL Preview for 2010

It's August.  The weather is hot and muggy.  Talk has turned from the MLB trade deadline to NFL training camps.  My allergies are acting up.  Must be time for the WSFL to kick things off!

Yes, the league opening happened last week.  But if you paid attention to the scores (49-9, 44-0, 42-0, 68-0), you'd realize the competition hadn't kicked off yet.  We're expecting that to begin this weekend.  And with it, we'll get our first real look at the league that must turn the corner this year or risk running itself into obscurity.

WSFL North: Menominee & Marinette Timberjacks, Manitowoc County Mariners, Oostburg Rebels, Kettle Moraine Titans.

M&M Timberjacks: Runners-up now two years straight, they will bring the thunder once again this year.  There is little doubt this team will once again dominate the North, running their modified wishbone offense and stifling opponents with a suffocating defense.  They churned out two All-Wisconsin running backs last year, and chances are, they'll do the same again this year.  Perhaps the brightest star and poster child for the WSFL, the T-Jacks are almost a lock to wind up inside the top 10 in Wisconsin.
