BREAKING NEWS FROM THE IFL...

According to sources, league founder and CEO Chris Chudada has announced that he will be stepping aside from the league for personal reasons.  It is known that Mr. Chudada is keen on coaching and has been offered the chance to coach youth at the high school level.  Furthermore, he reportedly feels that he has shepherded the league to a place where it can survive without his involvement.  At this point, no official announcement has been made, but sources continue to report that Mr Chudada has decided to step away.

Rumored to be in the mix to step in and assist IFL Commissioner Pete Narrai and co-owner Jordan Kopac is former IFL President of Football Ops Dan Greene.  Greene is currently the coach of the West Bend Junkyard Dogs and heads up the IFL Hall-of-Fame Committee.

Week 2 with the Storm
Sunday, 23 May 2010 11:57

Week 2 brought us another tough loss.  There are very few things in life that feel worse than losing, especially when you know you could have done better during the game.  As a 2nd year team in the NEFL we have to shake the reputation that we cant win.  I heard someone in the stands say, "well, at least they are good losers".  Is their such a thing as a good loser?  Either way, the game yesterday was a pretty good game, our defense is very very good.  We got great pressure on the Gladiators quarterbacks all game, and if we took away 3 big plays we would have been right where we needed to be at the end of the game.  As for our offense, we came out flat, and it showed.  We had way to many 3 and outs, and left our defense on the field way to long, the same thing happened the week before.

For me personally this game was a little better but still nowhere near the level that I should be playing.  At practice this past week our coach Chad Ashmann stressed getting the ball out of my hand quicker, and I thought we did a little better job this week with that.  I did however make two big mistakes, which in my opinion cost us the game.  As a quarterback if we are going to get all the praise when we win, or play well, then I think that I should take responsibliy for the losses too.  All in all we need to take this Memorial Day week to try and get a win in our next game vs. the Minnesota Phoenix.  Last year when we played them I remember their pass rush being very tough to stop, so hopefully we can hold them up a little bit so we can start putting some points up for once.

Even after a tough loss I still have the chance to enjoy some R & R with some teamates last night.  One of my recievers lives in Green Bay and a few of us had a get together their last night, relaxed, had a few drinks, played some beer pong, and enjoyed some 'team bonding'.  I think that it's important for a semi-pro team to bond a little, especially because we are so limited time wise when it comes to practices, so anything that we can do outside of the football field can only help the teams morale.

Well, that should about do it for me this week, I've gotta go play some beer league softball, haha.  I know that I'm getting older because I look forward to games like that, but it is what it is.  Good luck to everyone that plays Memorial Day weekend, and we'll catch up then.
