The Northern Elite Football League dominates northern Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan semi-pro football. The league was founded in 2008 after several other leagues had failed to reach critical mass. Since then, the NEFL has featured the most intense rivalries in the state, and features more champions than any other league in the Midwest: 7 of the current teams have been crowned as Champion in a different league prior to joining the NEFL. The league is truly of the Elite.
